Modern Meets Luxe: Super Chic Bathroom Remodeling Inspiration

There’s a very strong trend in bathroom design lately towards new bathrooms that look old. Think clawfoot tubs, antique or antique-look fixtures, and mosaic tile — new spaces that re-create the charm of vintage bathrooms. But what if the vintage look isn’t your thing? If you like a clean-lined look, or you’re just ready for something a little different, you’ll love this roundup of nine bathrooms that look to the future, and not the past.

My love for beautiful, unusual bathroom sinks is well documented, so of course I love this bathroom from Houzz, whose gorgeous, oversized marble vessel sink completely steals the show.

The dramatic shape of this bathroom by Förstberg Ling (via Dezeen) is really the main event, but the soft colors and subtle finishes are a beautiful complement to that.

The floating vanity and clean-lined freestanding tub give this bathroom by Captured Aesthetic a distinctly modern feel.

There’s something about the combo of pastel colors + marble + gold that just feels subtle and stylish and luxurious all at the same time. It’s pretty perfect in this bathroom from Vogue Living.

This all-white bathroom from Houzz gets a punch of pattern from a geometric concrete tile floor.

Thde delicate mosaic tile on the floor and wall of this bathroom by Aileen Sage Architects is a bit of a throwback, but the rest of the bath, including the brass framed mirror/vanity combo that forms the shower wall and the focal point of the room, feels entirely new.

The all-white palette and minimal shapes of this bathroom by Strang Architecture, via CAAN Design, are so soothing.

A little pink (and a touch of natural wood) is the perfect complement to the clean, stark lines of this bathroom from Vogue Living.

Marble isn’t a new look for the bathroom, but together with black fixtures, as in this space from No Glitter No Glory, it feels very fresh.
