Mariah Carey’s Closet Is Still As Over The Top As You Remember

Is it 2001 again? Because here we are, getting a peek inside Mariah Carey’s closet. It’s been over 15 years since she first gave us a glimpse of her glamorous space on her (in)famous episode of MTV’s Cribs, and it looks like it is still as over the top as you remember.

The chart topping songstress recently had Vogue come by her triplex in Tribeca for an exclusive tour, and it might even be more glamorous than before.

Mariah gives the fashion mag a look around, noting with a chuckle that she’s “not as casual as most people,” while sipping from a Champagne flute sporting her initials. Sparkly gowns are on display throughout the brightly lit space, though if she “had her way,” she’d just wear lingerie all the time (which, you might remember, she changed into during her Cribs episode—before hopping in the bathtub). In fact, she has a whole separate lingerie closet full of her “favorite sparkly numbers,” though she will most often wear a slip and a robe.

As a noted “shoe fanatic,” there is also an entire room devoted to footwear, lined with Louboutins and Manolos. Though a notable pair she shows off are something you might have in the back of your own closet. She calls the classic Adidas slides “the only shoes that matter,” mentioning they were the “only thing [she] could wear” while she was pregnant (with twins, Moroccan and Monroe).

Speaking of Monroe, Mariah is quite a fan of her daughter’s namesake (obviously), mentioning the white piano of hers that she owns, and showing off a compact she has that holds the actress’s typed Golden Globes speech while in her personal hair salon (yes, you read that right).

Check out the video tour below, or head over to Vogue for more.
