This Is What Kit Harington Would Be Doing If He Wasn’t An Actor

We can’t imagine anyone else bringing Jon Snow to life (and death and then back again), but Kit Harington recently revealed what he would be doing with his life if he wasn’t an actor.

The Game of Thrones star—who is playing the titular character in next year’s The Death and Life of John F. Donovan alongside Natalie Portman and Jessica Chastain— sat down with The Cut to chat about his latest gig—being the face of Dolce & Gabbana’s new scent, The One. A clear departure from his popular character’s somber, IKEA rug look, Harington gets to smile (!) and dance (!!) in the latest spot for the fragrance, and it’s pretty adorable:

Anyway, The Cut asked him plenty of scent related questions (what was his first cologne, his first scent memory, what does Jon Snow smell like) as well as what Hogwarts house he would be in, and his thoughts on Man Bun Ken, but we’re very into Harington’s choice of an alternate career. When asked what he would do if he wasn’t an actor, this was his response:

I think I’d start from scratch. I think I’d teach myself to be a carpenter or woodworker, I’d like to work with wood.

We get it—there’s something relaxing and meditative about working with wood. And now we’re picturing Harington as the new Aidan Shaw (but better, of course), or at least the solid, helpful carpenter type on a reality competition show like Ellen’s Design Challenge. Move over, Iron Throne, we bet a Harington designed wooden seat would be much more attractive (and comfortable).

He also mentions that he couldn’t live without boiled eggs and toast soldiers, and might even like to start collecting egg holders. If you have any hot egg cup leads, send them his way.
