Finally Some Good News: One Thing Millennials Aren’t Killing
After a long, exhausting march of wreaking havoc on the housing market, doorbells, print media, boats and a whole host of other things, Millennials have taken a break from their collective reign of terror to go to the library.
According to a PEW study, Millennials are more likely to make use of their local public libraries than previous generations. 53% of Millennials reported going to the library in the past year, compared to 45 percent of Gen X-ers and 43% of Baby Boomers.
Aside from the always fun to hear fact that Millennials are earning less than their parents that is probably contributing to their book-borrowing habits, many libraries have invested in technology by upgrading their websites, installing internet terminals, and adding “technology ‘petting zoos’ that provide opportunities to explore 3-D printers and other tech gadgetry.” These upgrades may be related to the uptick of Millennial visitors.
If you’re looking to get a little adventurous with your book-related activities (any and all generations welcome) you can try spending some time in a residential library or booking an appointment with a Bibliotherapist.
