5 Fashion Brands That Recently Joined the Home Decor Game (& Are Killing It)


Lately we’ve spotted an interesting trend: long-standing fashion brands getting into the home space. While brands like Missoni, Fendi, and Ralph Lauren have been in the game for a while, a new generation of fashion houses have begun dipping their toes in the waters of home decor. Here are five of the most notable.

Starting in September, Gucci brought its signature over-the-top style to a line of home furnishings and accessories. Currently the scope of the line is fairly narrow, so decking out an entire room in Gucci remains a faraway dream—but, if you have the money, you can now accent your space with lacquered Chiavari chairs embroidered with tigers, and velvet cushions covered in snakes.

Least expensive item: A bee incense burner, for $195. (You can also get this covered rooster mug for the same price, although I’m a bit confused about the utility of a lid on a mug.)

Most expensive item: A tufted velvet screen, for $32,000.

This formidable fashion house introduced their new home line at New York Fashion Week in February. Everything is very, very shiny, and even a bit ponderous—these are definitely not pieces for small spaces. But they’re certainly very striking, especially if you want your home to look like a fancy hotel lobby.

Least expensive item: A silver card holder, for $90. (The matching desk will set you back $3,600.)

Most expensive item: This gold credenza, for $9,000.

I’ll be honest: I always thought those quilted bags looked a little like bedspreads, so to me it makes perfect sense that Vera Bradley would introduce a line of bedding. Their line of quilts and shams debuted earlier this year, so now you can dress your home in their signature prints.

Least expensive item: There are plenty of throw pillows and shams to be had for $29.99, including this jaunty striped one.

Most expensive item: A king sized comforter set, which includes two shams, is $179.99.

In this collection, which launched in 2016, Kate Spade’s cheerful, feminine looks have been elegantly translated to a line of homewares. The downside is the prices, which, at least for the furniture pieces, can be a bit steep, but the good news for fans of the brand is that there are also lots of smaller pieces that will put less of a strain on the budget.

Least expensive item: A polka dot coffee mug, for $7.

Most expensive item: A brass, walnut and marble credenza, for $14,615.

Since 2012, Louis Vuitton has been adding limited-edition pieces to this collection inspired by the spirit of travel. This year, they added 10 more, for a total of 25. The collection, created by world-renowned designers like the Campana Brothers and Patricia Urquiola, contains some very intriguing pieces. Since I was unable to find any kind of prices for them anywhere, I am forced to conclude that they are far out of the reach of the average Apartment Therapy reader (and writer)—but they’re certainly fun to look at.
