Dual-Sided Fireplaces Double Down On Cozy Winters At Home

What could be better than one fireplace? Two fireplaces in the same space. It’s totally possible with a dual-sided fireplace, a unique feature that’s part practical room divider, part provider of cozy warmth ā€” and the perfect place to gather on a chilly fall or winter night.

These double-sided beauties work well as dividers between functional areas in an open floorplan, like between the dining and living room in this gorgeous space by Jessica Helgerson Interior Design (lead image above).

This stunning brick fireplace is the focal point in the minimalist home of Nashville textile designer Han Starnes. Though the home really is this clutter-free, the fireplace isn’t the only feature within the room. Han created a dining room by adding a table and chairs in front of the fireplace which you can see featured on Design*Sponge.

An elevated dual fireplace, like this stunning example in a South African home via My Paradissi, effectively heats the living room and dining room spaces. The white stucco finish unifies the fireplace with the rest of the room, so it’s not visually obtrusive despite its height.

The dual fireplace goes contemporary in the beautiful Norwegian home of Hana Alendar, which was featured in Bolig Pluss. The placement of this fireplace creates a cozy reading nook that would be the perfect place to spend a chilly Saturday afternoon.

French blog Planete Deco shows a dual fireplace that feels similar in style to Hana’s, just in white. The feature brings an interesting architectural element to the high-ceilinged space.

The shared wall between a master suite and the master bath is another great place for a dual fireplace. This bath was designed by none other than The Property Brothers.

This larger dual fireplace divides the kitchen and living room in a lake house by Crisp Architects. The slate surround feels modern, but the white paneling has a more traditional feel. Together, the details create a timeless look.
