Amazon Is Already Pushing Black Friday Deals
If you’re just now recovering from your candy hangover, here’s some sobering news: Amazon is already pushing holiday shopping on us. The retail giant launched their Black Friday hub this morning, complete with 50 days of deals.
Customers can find deals on everything from toys and electronics to holiday entertaining essentials and wardrobe must haves – all in one convenient location. This holiday season, customers can also expect great deals on premium TVs from brands like LG, Samsung and Sony, as well as popular toys from LEGO, Melissa & Doug, Nerf, Paw Patrol, Star Wars and more.
“We’re excited to officially kickoff another holiday season, bringing customers better deals than ever before on everything they’ll need – from electronics and toys to clothing, home essentials and more,” said Doug Herrington, Senior Vice President of North American Retail at Amazon.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for saving money, and spreading the holiday spending across an additional month can help prevent a financial hangover come January. But the season seems to start earlier and earlier every year; we reported back in August that UK department store Selfridge’s had already opened their Christmas shop—a full 147 days before the holiday.
On that post, some readers commented that they appreciate shopping early so that everything is done before the rush. And handmade or custom gifts do take some extra time, as one reader helpfully pointed out:
Though it’s undeniable that some consumers feel like the “Christmas Creep” is becoming too much, too soon. Target announced that they’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving fully before busting out the trees and fake snow, according to Fortune.
But if you’re in the “get it done now” camp, by all means, Black Friday away while you still have leftover Halloween candy.
