Ten Under-$40 IKEA Finds That’ll Double the Storage in Your Bathroom

Bathrooms come in all shapes and sizes, and unfortunately, sometimes, with little to no storage space. While carving out extra room in a small bathroom can be tricky, there are still ways to turn a little bit of unused space—think: walls, countertops, and awkward corners—into an ample storage opportunity.

IKEA is often our go-to for the intersection of affordable and useful products. From rolling carts to bed bases—yes, bed bases!—here are ten storage-savvy furnishings from IKEA that won’t set you back more than 40 bucks.

1. LACK Shelf

Few things offer more unexpected storage opportunity than a handful of wall-mounted floating shelves. Take a cue from this Shades of Blue Interiors bathroom redo and install a few above your toilet and or near your sinks to score loads of vertical storage space on the cheap.

2. FINTORP Series

Is there any storage situation the FINTORP series can’t improve? Originally designed as a wall-mounted kitchen organizer, the FINTORP system uses rails, hooks, and hanging storage containers to keep your small items in check—and unsurprisingly, can work wonders for small bathrooms (and bath toys, à la Love and Renovations).

3. LUROY Slatted Bed Base

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: don’t just sleep on slatted bed bases when you can use them for bathroom storage. We know it sounds kind of wild, but along with creating lots of vertical storage space, hanging up a slatted bed base on you bathroom wall (like this one via ICH Designer) looks insanely stylish and only costs $10.

4. MOSSLANDA Picture Ledge

If you thought the MOSSLANDA Picture Ledge was only good for holding frames, then think again. Slim, sleek, and super easy to install, these wall-mounted picture ledges provide just enough room to store tiny cosmetics and toiletries (e.g. nail polish, perfume, and makeup like we saw on Rock My Style) and will only set you back 10 bucks a pop.

5. SKURAR Candle Holder

Everyone loves chic candle holders, but when’s the last time you considered their bathroom organizing potential? The SKURAR Candle Holder is awesome for stashing makeup brushes, cotton balls, and other small products on your sink, and thanks to its pretty lace pattern, looks incredibly stylish while doing so — as you can see here on Who is Mocca?.

6. RASKOG Utility Cart

Posh and petite, RASKOG utility carts are an inexpensive way to score some extra storage space in a cramped bathroom. In addition to offering up mini mobile cubbies for stashing towels, beauty products, and all your other tiny toiletries (like this one we saw on A Beautiful Mess), these wheeled wonders can squeeze just about anywhere inside your bathroom — for only $25.

7. STUGVIK series

It might seem like a no brainer, but don’t forget that the inside of your shower offers up loads of storage opportunity, too. All of the products from IKEA’s STUGVIK series boasts suction cups (that stick directly to tile and glass) as well as hooks (and even some with storage cubbies), so you can hang up everything from washcloths to loofahs inside your shower, no hammer or nails necessary.

8. BEKVAM Spice Rack

Who knew a humdrum spice rack could offer up so much storage potential? Clearly Serena Kelly, who proves that with just a few $4 BEKVAM Spice Racks, you can forge wall-mounted cosmetic storage.

9. VESKEN Shelf Unit

Searching for a useful way to maximize a tight corner or awkward nook in your bathroom? One of IKEA’s best-selling shelf units, the VESKREN, provides four tiers of open (not to mention, vertical) storage space (perfect for towels and toiletries) and only costs $10. Even better, it doesn’t require any tools to assemble.

10. TRONES Storage Cabinet

Coming in right at $40, TRONES are a little bit pricier than the rest of the products on our list, but bear with us for a moment. Originally designed as a shallow cabinet for stashing shoes and other small products near your entryway, BrightNest is here to remind us that these fold-out storage hubs can stylishly conceal everything from hairspray to toilet paper in your bathroom, no floor space required.
