How Joanna Gaines Uses Instagram To Track Her Fitness Goals

Joanna Gaines is straight up health #goals. The Fixer Upper star, who recently announced her fifth pregnancy, started off the New Year with the announcement that she was going to work out every day for 21 days.

She kept herself accountable by posting about it on Instagram every day, tallying up her workouts, which ranged from running on the treadmill to strength training. In each one, she sported the same pair of black Nike sneakers.

In a lengthier post (also featuring her favorite kicks) on Instagram, Joanna elaborated on why returning to a regular workout routine was important to her. While in her early and mid-twenties, she worked out 1-and-a-half hours a day with the sole objective of looking good. But when she got married, started a business, and had four children, her priorities changed quite a bit. Looking back on the way she used to overdo it was so stressful that she quit working out for ten years.

“My priorities shifted and working out became less and less of a thought in my mind. Anytime I would think of it, I had a negative feeling about it because of my unhealthy approach to it years before,” wrote Joanna. “So from age 27 to now 37 I did not work out bc of the pressure I felt that was associated with it.”

But recently, Joanna’s wellness goals have become more well-rounded.

“Only until recently has my mindset completely changed—I got a fresh idea of what health really means and it starts from the inside out. My heart, mind and body need to be strong for the tasks set before me. What I do now will have an effect later, wrote Joanna. “This new healthy mindset takes the pressure off and makes working out enjoyable and more practical for this season.”

If you’re looking to get your butt in gear just like Joanna, you can always snag her shoes: According to People, the sneakers are most likely the Nike Free TR 7 Selfie Training Shoe in black, which you can buy for $100 from Nordstrom.
