Is it like a law that everyone in California has to enjoy working out and drinking green smoothies? You basically cannot consider yourself a resident of California if you’ve never gone for a hike before. Kale basically runs in the veins of everyone who lives in Cali.
That might be extreme, but does it surprise you to learn that the gym using its members to power the facility is in California?
Thanks to SportsArt’s line of ECO-POWR fitness equipment, Sacramento Eco Fitness can power their gym. Apparently, just one cycling class can power the gym’s fridges for an entire day.
The savings for this swap were instant for the gym, the saw their electric bill go from $680 to $30. Talk about serious savings!
Sacramento Eco Fitness is the first human-powered fitness facility in California. What makes this so special is during each workout, not only are you getting into the best shape of your life but you’re also making a contribution to improving the environment. Each time you show up to workout on our Eco-Power cycles you’re generating watts that help power the facility. We will then store the watts generated to power the facility during off peak hours.
The gym is packed with different machines (spin bikes and treadmills) that help members produce energy for the gym. One machine reportedly can produce 200 watts per hour.
These eco-friendly fitness machines don’t come cheap, the treadmills from SportsArt ECO-POWR start at $5,000 and go up in price! However, if you’re saving hundreds of dollars a month on your electric bill, then it might just earn you money in the long run.
Jose Avina, CEO and co-founder of Sacramento Eco Fitness dreamed of one day owning his own gym and not he has a one-of-a-kind facility. On the first floor, it looks like a standard gym, but Jose says upstairs is where the creativity comes into play, with the eco-friendly cycling classes and SportsArt ECO-POWR machines.
Would you ever workout at a gym like this?
